Hi, I’m Bec! I’m a watercolour artist and illustrator with a background in fashion design, based in the beautiful coastal town of Byron Bay, Australia. I grew up in Wellington, New Zealand before moving over to Australia in 2015 for work and the warmer weather.
My creative services blend the worlds of fashion, art and storytelling. I specialise in the use of watercolour, graphite pencil and digital illustrations creating live wedding illustrations, children’s picture books, custom artworks, fashion and textile designs.
With over a decade of experience in fashion design, I’ve worked as a designer and technical illustrator with renowned Australian labels such as Spell, Mister Zimi, Oak Meadow, and Andean. I am also passionate about art and illustration, offering the unique service of live wedding illustrations as well as children’s picture book illustrations, greeting cards, wrapping paper, prints and paintings.
I am currently illustrating a number of children’s books for authors around the world. My husband, Andrew and I also have released our own special picture book, “Mack and his Magic Mind”
The name Golden Rose Creative was inspired from my Grandmother, Rose (which also happens to be my middle name). I have always loved flowers and wanted to weave the name connection into my work. As for “Golden,” it reflects my love of warm autumn tones and the cozy hues of yellow and mustard, which feel like home to me.
Below are some examples of my live fashion illustrations from weddings, bridal showers and corporate events. These are a great keepsake for guests to take home as a memory of the special day.
In 2012 I won the prestigious "WOW Factor" award at the World of Wearable Arts showcase in Wellington, New Zealand with my three garments inspired by the intricate designs of Moroccan lanterns - Noor Reverie.
