About Rebecca,

Illustrator and Founder of Golden Rose Creative

Hi, I’m Bec! I’m a watercolour artist and illustrator with a background in fashion design, based in the beautiful coastal town of Byron Bay, Australia.

My creative journey blends the worlds of fashion, art, and storytelling. I specialise in watercolour, graphite pencil and digital illustrations, bringing life to fashion and textile designs, commission artworks, live wedding illustrations and children’s picture books.

With over a decade of experience as a fashion designer, I’ve worked with renowned Australian labels such as Spell, Mister Zimi, Oak Meadow, and Andean—all while nurturing my own art and design business. Over the past four years, I’ve shifted my focus to art and illustration, offering unique services such as live guests portraits at weddings and events. These bespoke keepsakes capture the essence of special moments, creating lasting memories for guests.

In 2025, I officially became a published illustrator for children’s picture books. My debut project was Sunny Bird’s Special Nest, a delightful story that was such a joy to bring to life. The entire process was incredibly rewarding and truly felt like a dream come true. Since then, I’ve been illustrating a variety of children’s books for new clients and am also thrilled to be releasing my own picture book this year, a special collaboration with my husband, Andrew.

Now, a little backstory on how Golden Rose Creative got its name! My middle name, Rose, comes from my grandmother, and I’ve always wanted to weave that connection into my work. As for “Golden,” it reflects my love of warm autumn tones and the cozy hues of yellow and mustard, which feel like home to me.

Below are some examples of my live fashion illustrations from weddings, bridal showers and corporate events. These are a great keepsake for guests to take home as a memory of the special day.

In 2012 I won the prestigious "WOW Factor" award at the World of Wearable Arts showcase in Wellington, New Zealand with my three garments inspired by the intricate designs of Moroccan lanterns - Noor Reverie.
